Meet A.J. Jensen

AJ Jensen is a professional caricature artist and cartoonist known for bold exaggerations, loose linework, and whacky, cartoony style. His path into caricature wasn’t just creative—it was personal. During a period of severe agoraphobia and depression, drawing became the tool that helped him reconnect with the world. Caricature gave him a reason to show up, sit across from strangers, and communicate through lines when words were harder to find. Through this practice he became more confident, talented, and most of all - braver.

He began pursuing caricature seriously in 2013, pushing himself through relentless self-study, repetition, and live drawing. Stepping into public spaces to draw people on the spot was intimidating at first, but it became transformative. Caricature didn’t just sharpen
his skills—it rebuilt confidence, created connection, and opened
the door to a community of artists who would become
collaborators
and close friends.

AJ’s work has since been recognized by the International Society of Caricature Artists (ISCA), where he has earned multiple awards across humor, body situations, and cartoon style. He is the co-owner of The ToonHeadz Caricature Co., the creator of ToonFest, and shares his ongoing Artventure through caricature on his YouTube channel—documenting the process, the lessons, and the belief that art can change the direction of a life.
